Physical and Chemical Properties:Appearance:Colorless or slightly yellow liquid, Boiling point: 125-127℃, Specific Gravity: 1.12-1.14. Moisture Sensitive. Stable. Highly flammable. May form explosive peroxides in contact with air or oxygen. Reacts exothermically with water to form extremely flammable diethyl ether and toxic, corrosive boron trifluoride hydrates. Also incompatible with bases, amines, alkali metals.
Usage: The catalyst and reagent of organic synthesis on acetylation,alkylation,polymerization,dehydration by condensation reaction. The fundamental materials for borohydride fuel’s making and isotopes’s extracting, also for epoxy resin’s hardener.
